Drinkable water & Ecofiltro
Collegiate students will be working in Antigua Guatemala with Ecofiltro
Water for Guatemalans
Ninety percent of rivers and streams in Guatemala are contaminated. Wells, springs, tap water — it's not a good water source unless it's clean. The best way to make water filtration a sustainable solution, and not just a charitable gift, is to help people secure filters for the rest of their lives.
give. sustain.
The Ecofiltro filter, made from clay, colloidal silver, and sawdust, traps bacteria and microorganisms that can cause infection and disease if consumed. The carbon in the filter eliminates odor and taste so that the water is not only healthy, but is also happily consumed. The Ecofiltro company works by "using sustainable materials in a sustainable manner" locally so that everybody in need can receive a filter that will sustain their needs for clean water for life.

Ecofilter is a company that wants to purify water sources that will make them drinkable and disease free. Especially since 90% of the rivers and streams in Guatemala are contaminated and can cause harmful effects to the people who drink from them. The filter inside known as the carbon filter traps bad bacteria and other harmful substances that can be harmful to the body and people can become sick. In other words, it purifies the water source making the water drinkable. The company also is selling and giving out these filters to families and people in need of a water source that is purified and is safe as well. This could provide for families in need and save many lives.
ReplyDeleteEcofiltro:one focuses on providing solutions to purify otherwise polluted water in rural communities of Guatemala in order to help prevent health issues resulting from lack of sanitation – currently the world’s largest cause of infection. The filter and receptacle complex itself consists of a bucked outfitted with a tap for easy release of potable water. A filter insert, made from a mixture of clay, sawdust, and colloidal silver, allows the original water to be filtered at a rate of two litres per hour. The high levels of carbon in the sawdust and clay act as the primary filtering mechanism, effectively eliminating the bacteria, odor, and taste from the water.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most interesting aspects about the function of the ecofiltro:one project is the level of community participation. All donations in the beginning are used to implement filters in the rural communities. Committees of local people (called “water boards”) act to manage the filter projects in order to set up sustainable, clean water in the impoverished areas. As filters are introduced into communities, the first one is completely free – coming from the donations. However, each family signs a contract outlining monthly payments that go toward its own replacement filters for the future, thus allowing donations to help spread the water revolution. Through the ecofiltro:one, over 3,500 filters have been delivered to 57 rural Guatemalan communities since the filter itself was invented in 1981. Through this, the health of more than 21,000 villagers has been dramatically improved, and the numbers perishing from water-borne illnesses are continuing to decrease.
The eco filter is a water purifier made by ecofiltro. It is made out of clay, sawdust, and colloidal silver. IT filters and makes water safe to drink at 2 liters per hour.
ReplyDeleteEcofiltro is a company that manufactures and delivers eco filters to urban and rural areas. They are for profit and they sell to urban areas at market value and rural areas at cost. Their goal is to provide clean, drinkable water to everyone without having to wait for government our or charity aid. They try to be as green and sustainable as possible. The eco filter is currently bieng used in Guatemala and has reduced the amount of deaths and sickcnesses that have come from contaminated water.

This could provide for families in very big need and save many lives.
ReplyDeleteThis Ecofilter will help people get some nice, fresh, clean water to drink and be able to have it in their homes so it will be good for them.
With an infinitely growing population, the most important resource is limiting the whole world. Clean drinking water makes up 1% of all water worldwide. This is a scary number. Water is a natural resource that we cannot live without for more than 3 days. If Ecofiltro proves to be a cost efficient way of acquiring potable water, then its use can be mass distributed world wide, and solve the one of the worlds worst problems.
ReplyDeleteEcofiltro works by utilizing the carbon in all organic substance (mainly clay, sawdust and colloidal silver). The carbon neutralizes the taste, the smell, and the bacteria from polluted water at a rate of 2 liters per hour.
By donating $35 dollars, Ecofiltro:one will donate a filter to a family in Guatemala. Private donors and the board help pay for salaries and materials to propel this movement froward.
Because 90% of the water in Guatemala is contaminated, Ecofiltro has created a relatively cheap way to eliminate to attempt to alleviate this issue. The Ecofiltro filter is made from clay, colloidal silver, and sawdust, which all work in combination to eliminate odor, enhance taste, and most importantly, kill any bacteria living in the water. Death and sickness from water contamination are at a high rate in Guatemala compared to most other countries. Donating only $35 can provide an Ecofiltro filter to a family, which will in turn save lives over the years.
ReplyDeleteEcofiltro reminds me of the way Heifer International works but instead of giving animals, Ecofiltro gives filters so that Guatemalans can have clean water to drink, bathe, and cook with. These filters not only save lives but also save the Guatemalans alot of time. The filter insert is made with clay, sawdust, and colloidial silver and is able to trap bacteria, leaving clean water behind it that is ready to use. Also, these filters can save someone's time and energy. By the time someone reaches a river that is an hour away, they could have about 2 liters of clean water in the same amount of time. With a donation of $35, a family will be given a filter for free, thus beginning the contract of paying a monthly payment in order to be able to have an Ecofiltro filter for life.
